Hey there! I'm Bev.

I seek different sources of inspiration to create experimental and expressive typography once everyday. This is to challenge that inspirations can be found anywhere in our daily life activities. This is so that designers and other professionals do not depend too much on online media as a reference on executing works. As we could become too repetitive in creating them.

By using inspirations from our daily life occurrences, we can create a different perspective of designs and work which can be a platform to something greater.

Join me in my school life journey as I create a letter inspired by an event everyday.

DAY 156

I have been so down with my state of mind and health. I decided to have an open brief to design anything I feel like creating today to brighten up my day.

DAY 155

I recovered and I am ready to get on with doing some work and my Macbook charger spoils. Why can’t it last 3 more months? So today I had to spend $98 to get a spanking new charger.

DAY 154

I can barely move and I am totally bedridden. I feel like a dead person ready to be found by the coroner to investigate on my dead and lifeless body. Being sick stinks.

DAY 153

I got really sick at such an important time. The thesis is due soon and I am not fit enough to work on it. Furthermore, I puked three times today. Things could not get any worst.

DAY 152

I think I am falling sick soon and I feel horrible. I just don’t feel right. Just like a line which is supposed to be straight and smooth but is all damaged and jagged.

DAY 151

Today’s weather is cool and bright. This leads me to attempt to create a happy and cheerful letter of the day using fun and bright colours that appeals greatly.

DAY 150

Everytime when I travel to school, there are so much construction in the way. Making the roads busy. Taking cabs will cost so much because of the traffic jams. Today’s letter is inspired by the metal construction beams.

DAY 149

I am facing some peer pressure because almost everyone has logo for their project and I do not have one. Not even an official name! Today’s letter ‘S’ will be made to look like a logo.

DAY 148

I have been feeling cold all these while and luckily I have my scarf to keep me warm. Today’s letter ‘R’ is inspired by the scarf’s weaving design.

DAY 147

My Macbook Pro has been glitching and hanging on me so badly. It always does it while I am working on my type. Once it glitches, it shows some really weird pixel graphics.

DAY 146

A friend of mine told me that she didn’t like all the previous letter ‘P’s that I made. Oh well. So I embarked on a mission to create an awesome ‘P’ to prove to her that I can make nice a nice letter ‘P’. Lastly, I think this letter ‘P’ is really nice. There are so many ‘P’s in this description.

DAY 145

I finished the books and the customer requested that it needs to be packaged nicely. I am not much of a gift wrapper but I used parcel paper and different coloured strings to wrap them up. I think they look pretty nice!

DAY 144

Today I had an request to make books for a customer. For about 2 months I had to reject all book binding job offers as I was really cooped up with school work. But this was one request that I could not refuse. The job was to make six very colourful A5 books.

DAY 143

When I design, I usually tilt my head in awkward positions to make sure everything is in order. So today I decided to create a letter that can be read right side up and upside down. It is called an Ambigram.

DAY 142

It is Valentine’s day! Love is not in the air for me. But here is me wishing you all a happy Valentine’s day. May you treat your lover like it is Valentine’s day everyday.
